Windows 7 has introduced a stunning new feature to enhance the user experience called Windows Aero. The Aero environment provides spectacular visual elements, including a translucent glass windows animations, windows animations, live thumbnails, Windows Flip and Flip 3D, Aero Peek, Aero Shake and Aero Snap. However, Aero is only available in the Ultimate, Home Premium and Professional versions of Windows 7.

Another consideration with Windows 7 is the hardware configuration of the computer that it is running on. If your computer only meets the minimal hardware requirements to be Windows 7 then you will not be able to have the Aero experience instead you will only basic windows user desktop experience. However, if your PC surpasses the minimum hardware requirements, then brace yourself for entry into the land of cool.

The minimum hardware requirements for Windows 7 include:
• 1-gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 1 GB of RAM
• 128 MB graphics card
• DirectX 9 class graphics processor
• 64, 128, or 256 MB of graphics memory (Recommended)

Aero Peek
Peek, as the name suggests allow you to be able to “peek” at your desktop, looking through all the open windows as if they were transparent glass. Simply point to the right corner of the taskbar and watch open windows instantly turn transparent, revealing all your hidden icons and gadgets on your desktop. To show just one window, point to the taskbar thumbnail, and that window becomes the primary window on the desktop.

Aero Shake
Sometimes your desktop can become cluttered with too many open windows; it can be hard to focus on the one window you need to view quickly. With a click and hold of the taskbar of the window you are interested in and shake of the mouse, your window will become the main focus and all the other windows will be minimized. Click again, give the mouse another shake, and you are back to your multiple windows view.

Aero Snap
Working with multiple documents side by side in Windows used to be a hassle. Windows 7 now introduces a new feature called Aero Snap or simply Snap. Just drag the windows to the opposite side of the screen to get a side by side view of two documents. Also to maximize a window, simply drag the window to the top of your screen and that’s it.
